🔓 A Vaud company specialising in security systems has been hit by a ransomware attack. The hacker group TheGentlemen claimed the theft of data that was then put up for sale on the dark web. The information concerned includes building plans, camera locations and, in some cases, login credentials. Several prisons, police premises, banks and businesses are affected to varying degrees.

🛡️ Some of the stolen data has reportedly already begun to circulate. The Vaud authorities are continuing their analyses and say that, at this stage, none of the information identified appears to directly compromise the security of the sites concerned. The case is a reminder that an organisation’s cybersecurity also depends on that of its external service providers.
