💻☁️ The Federal Council has tasked the DDPS with preparing a draft federal cybersecurity act by June 2027. The aim is to bring several requirements together in a single text, such as strengthening the security of software and hardware, better protecting sensitive digital data and clarifying the responsibilities of hosting and cloud providers.
🇨🇭 The future act is expected to draw in particular on the European Union’s Cyber Resilience Act. It could impose obligations on manufacturers, importers and distributors, provide for market surveillance and make it possible to ban the sale of products deemed insufficiently secure. The obligation to report certain cyberattacks on critical infrastructure is also expected to become part of this new legal framework.
